University Wisconsin-Madison Shelter Medicine Program: website docs

People

The website features many lists of lots of people! And on some pages, there are many lists, as well! To handle this, we’ve done a few things:

  1. There’s a database of people, so even if someone appears in more than one list, you can update them in just one spot.
  2. You can create lists with as many people as you like, and sort them as you desire.
  3. On any page, you can display one or many lists that you’ve created.

Let’s see how it works.

The database of people

Click People in the Data section in the CMS to see a list of everyone. You can easily search, add, edit, and delete from here:

Click through for the details on people:

Make a list of people on a page

Once you have someone in the database, you’ll want to create a list of people on a page. Scroll to the bottom to the Lists of people? widget, and add a people list.

You can add as many as you like; use the three bars to sort the list, and the trash can to remove someone:

Embedding a list of people on a page

Now that you have a list of people, you’ll want that to appear on the page. Use the Snippet “PeopleLists” to locate the lists wherever you want on the page.

Managing multiple lists of people on a page

It’s easy! Use the Snippet “PeopleLists” followed by a number — the number represents the lists of people you added earlier.
